Biography
Jody Lewen has spent more than two decades transforming higher education in prisons. Beginning as a volunteer instructor at San Quentin in 1999, she built the Prison University Project into Mount Tamalpais College — an independent, accredited liberal arts college inside the prison offering degrees, college preparatory work and full student support. She co-founded the Alliance for Higher Education in Prison.
